Footnotes:
The Mai Tai® Ti:Sapphire oscillator is aproven, industry standard laser source for applications ranging from general spectroscopy to multiphoton microscopy. With a large installed base and decades of field use, the Mai Tai platform is recognized as a
mature, dependable solution for demanding research and imaging environments where stability and ease of use are critical.
The Mai Tai series consists of two models differentiated by pulse width and power. The Mai Tai HP provides more than 300 nm of usable tuning range (690–1040 nm), over 2.5 W of average output power, and sub 100 fs pulse widths. For users requiring shorter pulse durations, the Mai Tai eHP offers improved temporal performance relative to the HP, while offering higher power and preserving wide tunability.
Mai Tai reliability is built on proven, ultra stable regenerative mode locking technology. This design enables truly hands free, drop out free wavelength tuning, allowing rapid acquisition of excitation profiles with point and click control. Integrated StabiLok® real
time monitoring further enhances long term stability by ensuring excellent beam pointing performance, minimal average power fluctuations, and elimination of wavelength drift. Together, these features make the Mai Tai oscillator a highly reliable, low maintenance ultrafast laser source for everyday laboratory operation.
For users requiring access to longer wavelengths beyond 1040 nm, Spectra Physics offers the InSight® X3™, providing an exceptionally broad tuning range from 680 to 1300 nm. In addition, for microscopy applications, the Mai Tai platform is available with DeepSee™ dispersion precompensation, enabling short pulses at the sample by compensating for dispersion introduced by microscope optics.
To verify and analyze the output power of your Mai Tai laser, we recommend the Ophir 3A (7Z02621) thermal power sensor and Centauri laser power meter. Additional information on this laser measurement equipment can be found on the ophiropt.com website. Other Ophir sensors and meters may also be suitable for the Mai Tai, depending on application. Ophir also works with laser system developers to achieve embedded beam diagnostics to monitor system performance as an OEM solution.
